2 Live Crew's "Pretty Woman" thus provided commentary on the song. Similarly, the use of Carol Burnett's theme music in "The Family Guy" could have been construed -- in conjunction with the mockery of her trademark ear tug and trademark character -- to mock the whole package of traits and performances that make up Burnett's image, including the theme music.

On the other hand, though, like Orbison's original "Oh Pretty Woman," "When You Wish Upon a Star" is certainly a "white-bread original." Introduced in 1940 in the Disney movie, Pinocchio, and sung by Jiminy Cricket, it is syrupy sweet, and has become the corporate theme song for the Disney Company, with a place in Walt Disney Pictures' opening logo. (It is also now a Christmas song in Northern Europe.)

The series features a jazzy score. The music is composed by Fey's husband Jeff Richmond, who is also a producer for 30 Rock. Richmond wrote the theme song, which won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music.[18] Six short original songs have been featured in episodes, four of which were performed by Jane Krakowski, another performed by Tina Fey and Jason Sudeikis and another performed by Tracy Morgan. The show has also covered three existing songs, including the song "Midnight Train to Georgia" by Gladys Knight and the Pips. The song had its lyrics altered. One song heard throughout the episode "The Source Awards" is performed by the artist The Gray Kid. It is the song "Oh My." The song was mixed with a piano arrangement composed by Jeff Richmond.

Loring was married to actor Alan Thicke ("Growing Pains") from 1970 until 1983, and they composed the theme songs to "Diff'rent Strokes" and "The Facts of Life." The first season of "Facts" featured a studio singer and some cast members performing the song, but the remainder of the run (1980-1988) featured Loring's rendition. Loring and Thick are the parents of sons Brennan and soul singer-songwriter Robin Thicke

Ghibli announced the film in late 2009 with Yonebayashi making his directorial debut as the youngest director of a Ghibli film. Miyazaki supervised the production as a developing planner. The voice actors were approached in April 2010, and Cécile Corbel wrote the film's score as well as its theme song.

The Secret World of Arrietty was first released in Japanese cinemas on July 17, 2010, by Japanese film distributor Toho. The film was officially released at a ceremony attended by the film's cast and Yonebayashi. Corbel performed the film's theme song at the event. In addition, Yonebayashi hinted that he wanted the film to beat the record of over 12 million audiences set by previous Studio Ghibli film, "Ponyo". The film was screened in 447 theaters throughout Japan during its debut weekend.

Cécile Corbel composed the score and sang the theme song for Arrietty, while the film score of The Secret World of Arrietty was composed by French (Bretonne) musician Cécile Corbel. Corbel also performed the film's theme song, Arrietty's Song, in Japanese, English, French, German and Italian.
